Her calf rushed to her side to help but also got stuck in the muddy trap. After struggling for hours to break free, the elephants eventually gave up, exhausted and unable to continue their struggle.

Luckily, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, well-known for their programs in Kenya that rescue orphan elephants and rehabilitate wildlife, quickly came to the scene.

With bravery and determination, the workers ventured into the marsh, clearing away the mud by hand to make enough room for the elephants to be rescued.

Using strong straps and ropes attached to a tractor, the conservationists expertly utilized their skills to safely and gently pull the elephants to safety.
